Don’t know much about the FB. James was a solid TE for a while in Pitt. So worth a look for sure.

I love a good FB… I don’t know if Bargas is one, but I believe Prentice is very upgradable.

This offense works at its very best when there is a good FB involved.

If he’s finally healthy, he’s a really solid TE3

Good point about his down years but then look at who his starting QB’s were for the Lions(Stafford but with Hockenson starting), Bears(Fields rookie year), and only two games with a bad Browns team.

He was decent with Big Ben at QB, never great but serviceable as a 2nd or 3rd TE

Wanted him signed a couple years ago, I think he's a good TE, not great but a good player. Can't have enough good players, Back ups are gold if they come in and do their job.

After reading up on Bargas… yeah, he’s a camp body.

Unless Prentice gets hurt or this kid suddenly explodes, he’s just here for TC to take some reps. Oh well…

It’s a shame really… because Prentice is *blah*.. and an actual player at FB would be exciting

Bargas potentially is. Jesse James is a complete TE, 6’7/260 with a lot of experience and can beat Krull for the 3rd TE spot.

Basically.

This signing makes me wonder what's Taysom gonna do this year. This guy gets paid too much not to be out on the field. I thought we would see him in more TE packages now w/ this signing, I don't know.

I like bringing in James. No real expectations but potentially upgraded depth that could play a small role on game day.
