Former Calgary Stampeders linebacker Wynton McManis is signing a futures deal with the New Orleans Saints. McManis spent part of training camp with the Saints during the 2020 season after signing with the team following a strong stint with the Stampeders.

In your opinion, is he pretty solid? You haven’t been wrong about CFL prospects before (or at least not that I can remember).

I was very excited when we signed Adam Bighill. I don't have a strong opinion of McManis. Maybe @CalgarySaint can bring us some information. We didn't have a season on 2020.

One thing for sure, I love Calgary's defence, and they gave a good story with linebackers.

I wouldn't say that. All teams sign guys to future contracts. It's a cheap lottery ticket. Best case scenario is the guy is good and plays for us even if it's ST. Worst case is we cut him. No harm on trying to find a diamond in the rough.
