New Orleans Saints tight end Jason Vander Laan has opted out of the 2020 season, according to Tuesday's transactions report.
Vander Laan is the second Saints player to opt out of the 2020 season out of coronavirus concerns, following the lead of fellow tight end Cole Wick.
Players have until Aug. 4 to opt out of the season if they so choose, and they can not opt back in once they've formally stepped out.
There are two options for players to opt out. If a player is deemed "high risk," like Wick with his asthma, they can earn $350,000 and keep an accrued season. If a player voluntarily...
