Saints to hire Bo Davis as defensive line coach (174 Viewers)

His resume clearly indicates that he wasn't a lifer to any organization. The longest he stay on any staff is like 3 years

I don't know why people thought that a coach he stole from Detroit to Texas to LSU wasn't going to get stolen from us

I think people are just used to assistants staying forever in the college game and after how terrible the LSU defense had gotten, are panicking about losing a guy who was supposed to help fix it.

But, I think this is kind of Kelly's M.O. He seems like a guy that tends to churn assistants with some of the guys from ND not following him and others going back. Saban did the same thing at least early in his career.

The super late coaching hire is probably why the Saints felt they had to poach LSU because all of the good DLine coaches are taken. It’s also why we’re hiring so many college coaches in general, imo.

There are always good NFL position coaches available. Too much gets made of this.

I think we are going to the college ranks intentionally as a strategy. The NFL game is evolving into favoring a more college style of offense.

What better way to counter this than to hire guys familiar with the things we are now starting to see almost every Sunday nowadays?

They need to find a way to poach Eric Henderson from USC. He's a Louisiana native from NOLA. He did excellent things for USC D line.

Gonna get tougher to retain college coaches when they have to go on the road and recruit during bye weeks during a season. Have to spend an inordinate amount of time traveling to meet recruits only to get outbid by an extravagant NIL deal at the 11th hour on the eve of a signing day. More college coaches looking at jumping or retiring.
