Jaguars cornerback Derek Cox remains unsigned several hours into free agency but that isn’t become there is a shortage of interest.
Cox has set up visits with New Orleans and San Diego and there could be more teams after that.
The Jaguars let Cox enter free agency when they decided not to franchise him last month and did not come to terms on a new contract before the open market opened today at 4 p.m.
The Jaguars contacted Cox’s agent on Monday but general manager Dave Caldwell spent the early part of Tuesday at the University of Florida’s Pro Day in Gainesville.

Cox graded an ordinary -2.5 on 776 snaps according to PFF, which means he could start for us.

Good player who can't stay healthy, could be a bargin.

Derek Cox, CB, Jaguars. Age: 26.

Derek Cox would be ranked much higher if he were reliable. He's a talented cornerback, but he's missed 14 games in the past two seasons. The Jaguars have to be so frustrated with his inability to stay healthy.

Played and started 12 games last year according to his stats on NFL.com

We need durability at the CB position. Like the idea but given our history of injury prone corners, I'm skeptical

Probably b/c their defense plays 55 mins a game. At least here we have an offense and when our defense gets scored on, it's usually pretty quick.

Good size (6' 1"), elite speed (4.3) and decent ball skills (4 ints) at first glance. Can't say that I followed J-ville enough to know a lot about him, but seems like a solid player.

Heck yes. Durability is a concern but it's not like we need him to come in and start right away. Would e a great addition. Like him better than the Texan guy we were so say interested in. Would be good depth.

He picked 4 passes and forced 1 fumble 5 turnovers a season makes him a playmaker and a starter! I wonder if we would cut Greer?

These are the type players we can afford to sign. So get used to it.

No impact players, just depth pieces.

Pff ranked him as the best CB in the NFL over a 12 game span between the end of 2011 and beginning of 2012. He has real talent.
