Saints Training Camp Updates 8-11-22 (1 Viewer)

Expect the unexpected. Tell that to Pierre Thomas. Imagine if he did play very well and Book is mediocre. Next week will be a mini qb controversy on this board.
PT23 had a full training camp. Costello is learning on the fly for temporary assistance. Would be a nice story, but a huge long shot at best.

He had no running game. And with our defense all he should've had to do was be a game manager. But our defense never played like a championship defense in the playoffs and we had no running game. So we expected Hebert to carry the team. They say the QB gets too much credit for wins and too much blame for losses. Hebert gets no credit for the wins and all the blame for the losses.
Hebert's decision making in that game was terrible. We had a 10 point lead heading to the 4th and he threw a pick 6 and took a safety in the quarter. He choked mightily. The Saints had a middle of the road running game that season.

3TDs and 7 INTs in three playoff games says he doesn't get enough blame from Saints fans sometimes.

9 TDs and 2 INTs by opposing QBs in those games says our defense deserves some of the blame. What about our running game? We ran for a combined 194 yards in those three games while our opponents ran for 425 on our elite defense. It's all on the QB though.

You left out where our D gave up 2 touchdowns in the 4th. So at the time of the safety we were down 4 points late in the 4th backed up at our own 5 yard line. Couldn't run the ball. No protection and Reggie White got the safety. Hebert had no chance on that play unless we had a quick slant called. He didn't have two seconds before he was on the ground. Then our D gave up a FG on the next possession.. We were down 9 points with about 2 minutes left in the game again backed around the 10 yard line. We're going to need a touchdown, onside kick and field goal to win and we don't have any big play threats on offense like the eagles do. The game is likely already over. We couldn't run the ball. No protection, Hebert gets rid of it to avoid a sack and Eric Allen jumped the route. That's your pick-6 when the game was likely over. But hey the fans got what they wanted. Hebert was the scapegoat, we got rid of him, and our team was garbage for the next 7 years.

Yeah but if he is given a chance to play in preseason, he better put up some unbelievable numbers. Or it will be one call away to be put on waivers once Winston comes back.
Next you'll be saying that the NFL is a performance business, where you have to show you're good enough to belong.

No, hold on, everyone knows that already.
