Forgive my ignorance, but with the new CBA why is it exactly that a player can't "hold out"? i.e. why is this his only option?

HUGE AA fan here.
The guy is such a passionate player, such a talented player.
By all accounts, very smart LB who is super athletic.
It’s truly a shame he’s known as the guy that’s injured.....cause he could be a great one.
The good news is he keeps battling, training, staying positive, I can’t wait to see him in the field this year.
That INT was LA two years ago changed the game, and was both a brilliant mental and physical play.

Agreed, I've always been rooting for him to stay healthy. The dude is a freak athlete and seems to have game-altering ability in both playmaking and coverage. I feel like if he can get passed his injuries and leave them where they belong, we'll have another All-Pro on the front seven.
