Originally signed by Michigan in 2015, the native of Prattville, Ala. played in nine games as a redshirt freshman, mostly on special teams. The cornerback wanted to reach the field as a starter faster and moved on to Copiah-Lincoln in 2017
Williams then found a home at West Virginia for the 2018-’19 campaigns. He recorded 17 starts for the Mountaineers and displayed excellent ball skills with five interceptions and 18 passes defended over the two seasons.
