Payton wants improved defense Sunday

METAIRIE, La. - Players and fans alike may suffer soreness in the neck following the game between the New Orleans Saints and the Cincinnati Bengals in the Louisiana Superdome on Sunday.
That's because both teams boast two of the most explosive offenses in the NFL this season. Violent jerks of the head are testimony to how quickly the Saints and Bengals can score.
One look at last week's offensive numbers, along with a lack of defense from both sides, and there may be another recipe for an offensive explosion.
The Saints piled up 517 yards and 31 points on the road against the defending Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers and lost. The Bengals blew up for 545 yards and 41 points against the San Diego Chargers and lost.
