It was time for Dixon to go.

He's now made two ridiculously stupid STs errors and he's a terrible CB to boot.

Phillips is a former 6th round pick a good blocking TE but not much else. So who else are we bringing in 2 were waived and 1 was claimed

Probably signing Barnes again. I have yet to figure out why we keep bringing him back. He was terribly out of shape when we first signed him and looked terrible in limited action in the preseason.

He had pretty good hands while he was at Virginia. His biggest negative was that he's pretty slow off the line. But he can catch if thrown to.

In games vs the Broncos....

The Falcons and the Raiders both had lots of success running heavy sets....with 2 and 3 TEs. The Broncos D, when healthy, is extremely fast but light.

Gashing and pounding with big sets gives them trouble.

Plus it neutralizes their best weapon, Von Miller, and his head down bullet rush around the end.

So if you can pick up a 3rd TE....AND he's a former Bronco.....that's a Win/Win.

I expect Landon Turner to get some action this week as a 6th OL/tackle eligible type duty.

I saw that one coming a mile away after almost plowing down the kick returner.

I thought we learned our lesson last year on Dixon. Surprised he even got past training camp. The only reason he made it this far is due to injuries to better players. Maybe Cadet is next.

Sounds like Hooman.

Carrying in the suddenly strong UVA tradition of producing NFL-caliber tight ends under coach Al Groh, Phillips went from being a part-time starter to first-team All-ACC selection in 2008. Teams looking for an athletic receiver to threaten the seam should look elsewhere, but as a secure short- to medium-range target with the size and strength to contribute immediately as a blocker, Phillips quietly ranks as one of the draft's better all-around tight ends. Had an arm span of 34 1/2 inches and a hand span of 10 1/4 inches at the combine.

I like Payton's emphasis on accountability in these past few weeks. That message spreads to everyone on the team pretty quickly, and we're seeing results on the field.
