Saints' website up and running, and... (1 Viewer)

It looked only slightly different from way back when everyone was complaining about it.

The format is cluttered

I like this better: http://www.arsenal.com
The front page does not have to contain EVERYTHING a fan would want to see. Keep it clean and simple!

They changed the site last year, i think some people are just now checking it out, we discussed all of the changes they made last year, it's better than it use to be, but it's still ugly, But there are a few upgrades i like:

-Exclusive Video's and interviews that you can't get anywhere else.

-News is now quicker than it ever use to be, with Pika ran the site, every other site even Buc's site had our News before it was posted on our own official site, and that was just purely embarrassing. We always relied on Saintsreport.com that probably wont change anytime soon, i think The New Owners of Saints org need to seriously get into talks with Andrus about a Merger and let him Design and manage the site and combine this fan forum with it.

-And last i like the Banner Rotations, each banner has a little flavor of New orleans along with our beloved team with it.

Cons:

-Site is slower.
-It's not sleek like most other Pro Team sites are ( I hate the falcons and the buc's but they're sites far exceed what we have, and i feel very left behind as we always are in Louisiana in everything we do). Although Falcons site is a little too much to bare, i don't want a Myspace-like fan just to chat on a forum.

I'd say the Buc's site is the best one in the NFL, and they have had the best one for over 10 years now, but they have a budget designed just for their website to function like it does so it'll always be the Disneyland of NFL websites.

The Saints site makes my eyes hurt. The point was raised before but they used the company who makes the Seahawks website to redesign ours. I'm not sure if it's still that way but they just took the Seahawks site, changed the colours and took away some features.
It is only when you see other sites offering minute by minute game updates, live streaming radio stations, and exclusive interviews and analysis, that you realise how poor the Saint's site is.

I never understood why Pika (our old webmaster) was fired, Look at the Falcons site now, he's on the Designing team of that site now and it looks Far better than what we had when he was with us, this gives me indication that the saints don't put much funding behind their websites, If our website can look halfway close to what Falcons or buc's have i'd be grateful but put ours look like a bunch of Newbie Webmasters slapped something together really quick and added a video area, it looks more like something i would do if i was just starting Web Design Class and needed something to impress my teacher with, not something i'd sell.

- Falcons new site: http://www.atlantafalcons.com/splash/

- Buc's New site: http://www.buccaneers.com/

- Our site :-( http://neworleanssaints.com

you choose which one is fan friendly..

Here is the Seahawks site.
Remind you of anywhere?
IMO we are paying a company big money for little to no work. I think they should have gotten a local company to do it, or had local web developers send in ideas and have the fans vote.

Well the company we are with now are based in Seattle, it's like they don't have different Template or something, almost every site they've done uses the basic cheap set of design, your right they should have kept this money local, There's a few very good web designing companies in New Orleans that would have put NewOrleanssaints.com on the MAP!
We have some of the greatest Graphic/CGI designers in the world working in New Orleans!! They are the one's doing graphics for the New movies that are being filmed in New Orleans, It's mind Boggling to me but whatever, i personally am a webmaster and i would have put a masterpiece together for the saints.
