Saints would want a first-round pick for Brandin Cooks (1 Viewer)

I'm estimating based on Vacarro's being 5m this year but it may be higher since Cooks went a year later, but he did go lower than Vacarro.

I'll check. Either way, 8m is nothing for a player of his caliber and would still be considered cheap.

Yea but I've been reading Cooks wants out of our offense, if this is true them I say trade him for the most we can get and move on.

And if the most we can get is a 3rd rounder?

What Cooks wants isn't really relevant. We either get the proper value or he can tough it out the next two years. He wouldn't be the first player to have to put his big boy pants on and keep playing. It happens with franchise tagged players every year.

Cooks isn't an idiot. He'll play and he'll be good doing so. The Saints have him for the next two years (three of you consider the franchise tag)...and there's nothing he could do about it. You get the value you want or you keep him.

BTW...four of the top 7 threads on SSF are essentially the same Cooks thread.

Sounds about right. There is no reason for the Saints not to demand a lot.

I'm glad the Saints are standing their ground and not trying to give him away for peanuts. It also shows me that Cooks' camp seem to be the ones pushing for this trade, since it looks like the team isn't gonna let a premier player push his way out of here without receiving ample compensation.
