Michael Thomas hit his first patch of adversity in an otherwise stellar rookie year -- and it was a doozy.
The New Orleans Saints receiver lost two fumbles in the fourth quarter of his team's 25-23 loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 10 and also had a pass broken up and turned into an interception earlier in the game.
But he came back with a solid performance four days later -- five catches for 68 yards in the Saints’ 23-20 loss at the Carolina Panthers.
“It was tough. Being a competitor, it was hard, it was a challenge,” Thomas said after the Carolina loss. “I was presented with a challenge. I made a couple mistakes. But the good thing about this game, we had a quick turnaround, we had a Thursday night game, a way to redeem myself or come back or just to be able to play this game. We can’t take it for granted.
