Saints zeroing in on Asomugha and McKinnie... (1 Viewer)

Exactly. Greer and Robinson struggled in a mainly zone scheme, their level of play plummeted and I think most people realized this. Scheme was to blame.

How is Asomugha not given the same level of curtosy that fans are so quick to give Greer and Robinson? Their o-line coach was their DC! Nothing more needs to be said.

Robinson struggled before last year. I know many want to look at the silver lining with him, but his knock coming out of college was his focus and consistency. He has struggled with both since joining the team. As a coach we take consistency over talent in most cases. That is why shanle kept getting the nod as a starter. The coaches trusted him to know what to do and where to be on every play. He is/was not the most talented but the coaches trust him.

I do not see Greer getting cut unless we draft a potential starter this year. We just can not afford to put more trust in Robinson.

Not sure what makes people think moves to saftey make sense anymore. It works so infrequently.

Guess people haven't learnt their lesson from Jenkins move to CB.

Rugger, I agree he was inconsistent even before but he was much better than he was last year. And any player we can sign that kicks him to dime CB is a huge plus for me.

Oh no doubt. I was more focused on my concern with cutting Greer if Aso was signed. I think Greer is a must for another year if we sign Aso or not. I do not trust Robinson as a even a nickle Cb.

I don't think we have to worry about that. We'd only be saving like $1.5 million and would have $4 million in dead cap if we cut Greer. Not worth it.

Only real savings we'd have by cutting anyone in our secondary without taking a significant cap hit would be Jenkins.

I can't wait till he decides this is getting old!!
Jim shares our pain :hihi:
