You mean like when Jarvis Landry picked us in a cheap deal last offseason? That worked out great. If player X had the same offers on the team from two teams. Why would they choose us? Especially if it’s a WR. We won’t be an attractive destination without a HC, QB and OC. But you’re right we can always overpay for everything.
Just like "any of us" we don't all have the same value system.Bingo. Just like with any of us in any of our jobs.
When you’re talking about this level of $ and extremely short career spans, yeah they do.Just like "any of us" we don't all have the same value system.
Some players will take less money for a better work environment, just like some of us will take less money for a better work environment.
Not everyone puts money/financial considerations above all else when it comes to employment.
No, not all of the players always take the biggest contract offer. Most of the players may, but not all of them. When you’re talking about this level of $ and extremely short career spans, yeah they do.
LOL. Been following them for my entire life. And yes, I remember. No, not all of the players always take the biggest contract offer. Most of the players may, but not all of them.
It's clear you think everyone in the world thinks just like you do, but they simply don't.
How long have you been following the Saints? I ask, because you seem oblivious to the history between the Saints and Deon Sanders. That's just one example of a free agent not taking the biggest contract offer. There are other examples.
Not the Saints FO…they understand my point. It’s Saints fans that don’tYou’re right. You’re probably smarter than Khai Hartley at Cap stuff.

It’s pretty simple logic. The cap doesn’t just increase for the Saints. Is that debatable?Source: trust me, bro
Nope. It’s pretty simple logic. The cap doesn’t just increase for the Saints. Is that debatable?
The other teams have the capabilities of “maneuvering”. There is nothing magical that Loomis does.Nope.
But it affects the Saints differently because they maneuver around the cap differently.
Which, in your words, the Saints FO “understands.”
Landry went with us for a chance to come home. If that’s your best selling pitch to free agents, we have a bigger problem. You mean like when Jarvis Landry picked us in a cheap deal last offseason? That worked out great.
Players pick based on $. As they should. Sure, if $ is equal, then certain things may factor in. Coaching relationships (like DA with Carr), talent, chance to win, hometown, etc.
But in nearly every circumstance, it comes down to who wants the player more and is willing to $how it.
I have a strong suspicion that the reason CGM so quickly and apparently easily agreed to a contract restructuring was so he’ll be released. I think both parties are ready for a fresh start. It sucks but some very hard decisions are coming and he’s just the first. I could be wrong but doubt it…..So you’re saying we can keeping our All-Pro WR in a position of need for free instead of paying or drafting someone less amazing?
Well that’s good news.
Who said that? This!! People see the extra money and forgot it’s for the whole league! Players don’t wanna come here anymore, unless we over pay. We don’t have Sean.
