Sean giving McMahon the Rob Ryan treatment (2 Viewers)

the one that comes to mind for me immediately is the missed FG against Atlanta a few years ago.

I think the best question is when was the last time special teams was the reason why we won, this almost never seems to be the case the last few years. A push with our st against theirs has come to be our best case scenario

This is getting ridiculous.

For those of you accusing Payton of "nepotism" (look up what that really means) or "cronyism" when it comes to hiring and firing coaches, you should rethink things. Just this off-season Sean let Bret Ingalls go and replaced him with Dan Roushar. Ingalls was our RB coach in 2009, our Super Bowl season.

Payton and Ingalls go back a long way. They first coached together at San Diego St. back in the early 1990's. Ingalls was originally the RB coach there (Marshall Faulk era) and then offensive coordinator. Payton was there working with him. They were not just coaches, but very good friends. Payton decided to let him go from the Saints last off-season. I am sure this was a tough decision to let his old friend go, but he did it.

But yeah, let's just keep squawking Vitt, Johnson and McMahon.

Last year we had a blocked punt for a TD. The first TD from a blocked extra point, and a punt return or kickoff return for a TD. Don't remember which one. That's not to bad, and like somebody said I don't think they looked that bad the Thursday night.

With McMahon stressing opportunistic play over the last seven seasons, the Saints have recovered 14 fumbles on special teams, scored 10 touchdowns –including six on punt returns – and blocked two punts, four field goals and two extra points. Since 2008, New Orleans has been ranked in the top 10 in kickoff return average three times.

New Orleans Saints: Greg McMahon

sounds pretty decent to me. and you have to remember he hasn't had the deepest pool of talent to choose from. Is he the best? Nope. But he is decent.
