Recap:
- It was ultimately an easy decision to sign extension with the Saints because of the ownership and front office here. He also cited being one hour and 20 minutes away from his son, who is in high school in Dallas, as a factor in signing the extension to remain the Saints head coach.

- He and Mickey Loomis sat down after the season and mapped out the future of the team. Payton said that defense was obviously the priority this offseason.

- Payton was asked why he is often rumored to be leaving the Saints to coach another team such as the Cowboys or the Giants. Sean Payton said that he thinks it all started when he and his family moved to that house in Dallas in 2010. But since then Payton implied that all of these rumors are media-driven and not based in fact.

- He thinks NFL is way behind on helmet technology right now when it comes to player safety, but he thinks that a technological advance in the helmets they use will be coming in the next few years.
