Not sure if this guy is a reliable source or not though.

Has to be reliable. He has "NFL" in his username.

Hopefully they follow it up with a Brees extension announcement and we can just ride out this offseason smoothly

Maybe this whole thing was really about his job security?

That'd be weird, but it'd be damn good work by his agent

Hard to believe a guy from Massachusetts with a fantasy football background is going to be breaking the news of a Sean Payton contract extension.

I think the info he's been "told" is what we've all been told and that's the press conference was moved back to 2:00 and he's speculating that there's been a contract extension.

No.

2 losing seasons in a row from a coach who may have just recently got his juices flowing again cause we all know he was checked out the last 2 seasons. This is extension worthy?

Hell no. all he has earned is the chance to finish the extension he signed after winning a ring. He has't done much since to be extended again.

There's a reason every team with a vacancy wants him as head coach.

Or there's a reason his agent is putting it out there to raise his price tag.

I'm not saying get rid of him, I just don't don't want to extend a guy that has put out questionable effort the last 2 seasons. If you want a raise, earn it.

Don't see how this guy has any credentials to say anything one way or another. He's just speculating like everybody else. But at least he's upfront about it.

And what if he is wrong? Then nothing. That's the problem with reporting in the internet age. Everything moves so fast that our attention span is very narrow. Consequently, the standard of verification is virtually nonexistent. People throw things at the wall just to see what sticks.
