Sean Payton: "I'm coming in with the mindset that this is my first year" (2 Viewers)

Christ, I'm pretty sure he is ready to unleash the dragon in Week 1.

Holy **** . Sean Payton is taking out the trash.

I miss Saints football...

So, I'm half a 1.5L bottle of wine in, with a ****load of work left to do, and I decided to listen to a loud, long version of '09 Halftime (...Monday Night, Falcons gettin' A-Town stomped, are you ready for some football???), followed by Casanova.

And then I read this comment by Payton.

I am already so freakin' psyched for this coming season that an old school training camp in the summer will just send me over the edge. I just can't wait to make that 700 mile roundtrip from Houston 8 more times starting in September!! Oops, I mean 10 times counting the Divisional and Championship Rounds. Gonna be cold next February in the Meadowlands!!

I want that guy that used to smack Jamaal Brown up side the head and drop f bombs like they were going out of style.

Holy **** . Sean Payton is taking out the trash.

I'm leaning towards this, but knowing how even keeled he is, I bet he just means not to take anything for granted and just keep a fresh outlook on this team to be more objective.

Payton came out swinging with the 3-4 change and Spags firing. I'm really liking the overhaul. I could only imagine having to sit on his couch every Sunday and be appauled with what he saw. I would't be surprised, as others have mentioned, if there was a roster shakeup as well. WHO DAT!

Haha like your "players" reaction. This kinda mirrors what Drew said in an interview during Superbowl week about how everyone is basically having to play next year to prove themselves. He said its a NEW ERA, glad to see its kinda trickling down (or up rather?!) to the coaches. To me this all accumulates to be a great thing as every one from top to bottom will be playing lights out and coach will have a new fire going into next season.

I miss Saints football...

Hopefully Drew comes in scared as well. His game was off significantly throughout the first half of the season.

Back to the lip of the Volcano that is HELLSAPS

Does this mean we get a blocked punt TD in our first home game? Cuz I'd be down with that...

Nice. That's a good thing. I remember that year. No sacred cow was safe; if you didn't perform then you were done. Stallworth didn't even make it to the season and Horn was all but invisible.

I have zero problem with Payton, but this is meaningless until he guts the defensive position coaches and special teams from the coordinator down. He better take a long, hard look at Henry Ellard while he's at it.
