Sean Payton Will Be On Mike and Mike At 8. (1 Viewer)

oooh, i wonder if Mike will call Mike a fatty and then Mike will call Mike a girly man

Recap- very vanilla answers up until asked about starting o-line. Likes peat on the left, especially at tackle when Armsteads hurt.

Asked about the patriots picture on his Twitter, said that very few NFL people understand what Brady's going thru with the suspension. (Throwing shade at Goodell).

All in all a very boring interview.

Can anyone recap for those of us at work?

-Brees contract.
- Main reason QBs can play into 40s, if possible.
-What Payton has seen in the offense so far. Greeny said the Saints have the pieces to go back to '11. Payton doesn't think so. Yet.
-What the Saints need to do to break outta 7-9. Payton's response? Play better defense.
- Payton's support of Brady. He can relate.

Asked him directly about the tweet in reference to Tom Brady and he laughed and said they we have have several years of practice with the Patriots and that he knows what Tom's going through. Like that he took a shot at Goodell there

Post interview. Both were stunned at how blunt Payton was in his support of Brady. Both said they wouldn't be surprised if the Saints went 11-5. Not expected, but wouldn't be surprised if it happened. Talked about how tough the division is.

He was very honest about the offense.

Agreed.

was happy to hear him say what a lot on hear have been thinking. that we need to get better at the O-line and the Defense has been a problem but not the whole story. he talked about how we need to improve our offense by playing complementary football by sustaining drives and better use of the run game.

was a great interview really.
They complemented his offensive work. and they all agreed we have a few good peaces on the oline but it needs work (specifically naming Unger and Armstead as bright spots.)

They both said after Sean was off the phone that Carolina is both of their picks to win the division but would not be surprised if the Saints put it together and won 11 games. They also acknowledged it would be difficult because of our schedule but not shocked if we pulled it off.

hmmm

What? Greeny didn't ask Payton his opinion on how the Jets look this year ?????? Instead he continued to ask about the Saints ??? He is slipping .

Something similar happened during training camp with Brees.

1st question - How are you doing?
2nd question - How do you think Brady is dealing with the upcomping suspension?

And I've seen it happen other times as well.

Does this happen to other teams? Are the Saints so boring that interviewers need to ask questions about other teams?

I don't get it.
