I took the first 5 games of each team for the past 10 seasons (1999 - 2008), and created the chart in the link based on that data.

Points Difference: Difference between points scored and points allowed.

# - # Wins: Number of teams hat won # to # wins that season that had a particular point difference.

Total Teams: Total number of teams that had that point difference through their first 5 games.

Minimum Wins: The lowest amount of wins recorded for the corresponding point difference range.

Average Wins: The average amount of wins recorded for the corresponding point difference range.

Maximum Wins: The max amount of wins recorded for the corresponding point difference range.

I find it astonishing that 3 teams were at least -50 points and still finished with 9 wins or more.

The thing with this Saints team is you can't really look at the stats because out of a sense of Class, Coach Payton is purposefully leaving points on the field by taking Victory-Formation Kneeldowns inside the five or putting in second and third stringers with plenty enough time left on the clock to score.

In five games our point differential is 99 but in all seriousness it could be in the 121-point range.
