Seattle appears pretty dang good. And Denver is no cupcake (1 Viewer)

This team is coming together for a run down the weaker side of the schedule. I'm much more optimistic now than I was a month ago. Good things ahead.

We have the makings of a good team, but the numbers are against us in the win/loss column. If we don't stop shooting ourselves in the foot, a run will be meaningless when we miss the post-season.

I agree we look very good but it just may be a little to late. I hope not but it may be that way because the margin for error is almost non existent there is is no room for error when we've dropped so many close games. I hope and pray we can pull it through because if we get in the playoffs I truly believe we could do some damage. Only time will tell. Thursday's game will be yet another big game as most of the games left on our schedule will be huge games.

If we improve I see us going 9-7.

That's a lot of hoping and wishing that the Falcons wind up with the same or worse record.

This game was so important. With a win Thursday at least we are still technically "alive". With a loss, you can pretty much put a fork in this season.

That would be something, but I think we've just commenced our now-annual swan dive that comes after clawing back to 4-4.

It's our thing.

(along with some more happy talk from Payton at the end of the season about the young guys and how great the locker room is and how we have things to clean up and how we are better than our record and then we start the cycle all over)

4 divisional games left and we need all 4 and if we can pick up another win along the way then we are in a good position but that is a tough task.

Denver is a good football team defensively. That safety who had those two picks seemed to always be around the ball. Even without Talib and Wolfe they are pretty good. Brees was throwing in very tight windows because those players in the secondary had such tight coverage. Wade is a solid DC IMO. Missed opportunities & miscues for the Saints. We had this game won.

Sadly I agree.

Saints haven't been over .500 since 2013...

2014 after starting 4-4 they lose 3 in a row and end up 7-9.

2015 after starting 1-4 they battled back to 4-4... only to lose 4 in a row and end up 7-9.

I didn't look beyond that but someone else said in 2012 they were 5-5 and then went 7-9 again.

The saints just don't seem to have the testicular fortitude to claw back from such a deficit.

It just takes so much work to get out of the hole that it's very hard to sustain. Remember there are very few great teams that start 1-4. So there's a reason why we were in that position. So it's a lot to ask an inconsistent, mediocre team to tear off ten straight wins.

Unfortunately that's what I see.

I don't know what GOD has against his Saints but nothing ever goes our way in close games. lol

We should have beat the Raiders and Giants. And we for sure as hell should have beat the Broncos.

The only hole we are in is a one game deficit to ATL. The South is wide open

I said 7-9 before we went on our streak, but then we started winning games and I changed it to 8-8. I still say 8-8 (at best) because we are very green, and we are dealing with some massive injuries. I imagine next year to be the year that we put it all together and go 12-4 or something better, but this is the year we put in that ground work.
