In a lot of ways, the New Orleans Saints’ 27-24 win against the Carolina Panthers was their most encouraging performance of the year.
Even without its top two receivers, the offense was efficient as ever, giving punter Thomas Morstead the day off thanks to an unreal performance on third down. The defense kept the Panthers’ rushing attack grounded and made the big play when it absolutely needed it.
This team appears to be ascending after some shaky early season performances. But for it to reach its potential, it’s going to have to find some way to address the problems that have plagued it...
