Just a quick video showcasing how the Saints will set up a certain play (a lot of times a shot play) for later in the game by using the same play early on to force a certain response. In this example, I use 4 Verticals (which I wrote about here: Saints Film Room: Inside one of the Saints’ most potent passing concepts ) from the Texans game. It's little things like this that have kept the Saints as one of the top offenses in the NFL for well over a decade. Payton is just so good at seeing how things are going to play out, instead of simply needing to react. It helps that Brees is unarguably the most efficient QB of all time.
