… for these farcical OT rules we have now…. Watching the end of the Steelers/Ravens game.. Such foolishness; for the FIRST overtime, these are the rules.. for the THIRD overtime, *these* are the *other* rules.. Now, dont forget, the REGULAR season overtime rules are different from the PLAYOFF overtime rules… with Sudden Death overtime, the first team to score in OT would win the game… and it was DONE.

The reason for ostensibly getting rid of Sudden Death OT a few years ago was to make it more “fair”.. but there was a study done showing that , over the last 40 yrs, the team who go tthe ball first in sudden death OT only went on to win the game 51% of the time ! It was ALREADY FAIR !!!

I liked the "old" college rules. Everybody gets a series from the 25 until settled, a la LSU v. TXAM.

Still not nearly as efficient , effective or entertaining as sudden death OT.
