I remember after his first few seasons in San Diego, I thought he would become the next great Dominant pass rusher.. he showed flashes of greatness then I guess the Injuries, and performance enhancing supplements sidetracked his career.

stopped roiding and suddenly his performance dropped

he was a beast on the field but how much of it was the juice

Never was the same after he got popped for roids, go figure.

I remember a time when Cowboys fans were furious that they took DeMarcus Ware over Merriman.

He was a beast even after the roids - once the leg injury happened (possibly roid damage related) he couldn't get healthy.

He dominated after the positive though.

For reference, he had 12.5 sacks in 15 games in 2007 his first full season after the positive, even if you wipe out the 8.5 in a month after his suspension in 2006.

Then his knee and calf injuries destroyed him.
