Saints Short Update on Kamara’s legal situation (from WWL) (1 Viewer)

So you think that I and the others who saw it are making it up some unfathomable reason? Is there any chance that you possibly be wrong?
I don't think you're lying but I also find it very hard to believe that this video was seen by people and yet no one can find it online. The best I could do was a still image.

I saw the video. I can't be the only one. He pounds the guy repeatedly in the face and when he went down his boys and he proceeded to stomp the hell out of him. It's was vicious! If he had just backed off when the guy went down he'd be in a lot less trouble.

I'm as big a fan as any of us but if it had been any of us we'd probably wind up in prison along with our friends.

If he doesn't it will be because he's rich and famous.
I declare BS that you ever saw the video.

I'm sure this has already been discussed, but what if the victim does not want to pursue criminal charges (just wants a financial settlement)? Is the crime likely to still be prosecuted in this case if the video evidence is overwhelming?

The DA can still prosecute. The victim’s interests are considered but they don’t force a result one way or the other.

I know they CAN, but is it likely? As in maybe this DA has a reputation for this kind of thing one way or the other? It's in Vegas where I'm guessing somewhat similar situations aren't completely unheard of, although not so high-profile of course, which I imagine could be a big factor for the DA in deciding to prosecute in the absence of a victim wanting to pursue criminal charges.

And I'm jumping to conclusions on what the victim might like to do, but I'm guessing the victim could demand more money if he agrees not to testify against his wealthy attackers, right? If that's how it works, then I can't imagine him wanting to pursue the criminal angle, but then I've never been attacked in such a way, so it's hard to have great insight on the victim's thinking in this.

Because of the high profile of this case there will certainly be an attempt by city leaders not to allow a bad precedent to be set regarding the personal safety of patrons who choose to wager in any of their palatial gambling establishments. Kamara will definitely get the hammer. His punishment will be significant.

I haven't seen any particular insight as to this DA's office on that question. Certainly the fact that the DA has been willing to move the preliminary hearings so easily suggests they're giving time for a resolution of some kind - at minimum it gives Kamara's team more time to work on it.

I also think the casino is probably favorable to Kamara as well, at least behind the scenes and I do think that matters. If the local business interest was also pushing the DA to take a hard line with this kind of conduct on casino grounds, I think that would matter - so it also matters if the casino is taking the opposite position (especially if this victim has a history that some have mentioned).

But all just speculation at this point, all interests involved seem to be unwilling to share any information. I think that's also good for us at this point.

It was on television the week after it happened. I don't remember where it was. I don't have ESPN or anything like that so it have main stream media.

It was never on TV. I don't understand the point in lying about seeing the video.
