2 questions:

1) If this score holds, should a one loss SEC champ jump Michigan and go to face Ohio State in the title game?

2) Will enough human pollsters switch to Florida to make it happen?

My personal opinions are "yes" to both questions. I can't see a 2nd place team in a conference getting the nod over a conference champ that will have ended up beating 9 bowl teams. Michigan had their shot and blew it. I think the human pollsters (or at least enough of them) will give it enough thought and conclude likewise.

I'm not too impressed with Florida. I think it should be OSU and Michigan again.

You can make the case they play in the tough SEC, and they do, but Michigan hasn't played those teams so it's unfair to just remove them because they haven't. They proved they can hang with the #1 team in the country. Florida has not.

Bottom line, the system sucks. Playoff system needs to be made ASAP.

I think so because USC (with one loss) was allowed to jump Michigan to #2. IMO Arkansas is much better than Notre Dame and they should show Florida the same kind of respect.

If they don't let them in after winning in a great SEC Championship game like this, the system is really messed up.

Why should they let them in, though? Just because they won the SEC championship? That's not exactly fair to Michigan, is it?

I wasn't too impressed with Michigan's 34-26 win over a Ball State team that finished 5-7 in the MAC...

If they gave USC the nod over Michigan for beating Notre Dame, they've gotta treat Florida the same for beating a better team.

I think it is. Had Michigan not played down to their competition for several supposedly easy games, they probably wouldn't have to worry about this.

Michigan is a second-place team. They didn;t win a conference title, so yes - I think Florida should be in the title game.

And I think they will. They will certainly jump Michigan in the computers - the question is will they move up enough (not necessarily jump) in the human polls.

Yes, absolutely I think Florida deserves a chance to play in the championship game- it's the right thing to do. They play in the SEC, and Michigan does not- it's really that simple. However, since I hate Florida with a passion exceeded only by my hatred of USC, I hope it doesn't happen.

While the SECCG was exciting, to me it turned into a flag football game with all the gadget plays on both sides. 5 different guys threw a td in the game, I thought it started to turn quite silly. Also can Florida give OSU a game running the option, I don't think so, but that's just me I want to see LSU play USC and the only way that happens is if it's Michigan vs. OSU.

My thoughts exactly.

I love how the "ammunition" people use to back their arguments every week changes....conf champion/no conf champion, strength of schedule, etc, etc.

FACT: UF beat Ala, Ga, SC, LSU, Tenn, FSU and Ark. Yes some games were close, but people last week weren't saying that against USC as they barely beat some VERY weak PAC 10 teams this year. UF has only one loss, won its conference and based on beating a very good Ark team today should be playing OSU for the championship. Mich had its chance. Send them to the Rose Bowl so they can stomp USC.

With all of that said I now need a stiff drink. As I life long LSU fan I never thought I could endorse UF....but they deserve it. Pls someone tell me how they don't?

Tell me how Michigan doesn't? They lost one game, and it was to the #1 team in the country, by 3 points, on the road. Tell me how they don't deserve it. You can make a case for either team - and both sides have a GREAT case - someone is getting screwed by the BCS, as usual...

Lets say they give it to Florida and Florida loses by 20 points to OSU. What have we proved here?
Lets say they give it to Michigan and Michigan wins by 3 points. What have we proved here?

Guys that love the BCS are going to vote for the team they think will give OSU the best game or perhaps beat them especially since Michigan played them and it was so close. Michigan is the SAFE choice for those guys. Inviting a team that loses big to OSU does not favor BCS supporters.

Either way, I hope OSU blows out whoever they play by 25+ points to create some serious controversy.

Bring on the playoff system!

Florida to Championship game

Michigan had their chance two weeks ago and failed. What has changed in that time frame to justify putting them in the ChampGame?

Florida to play OSU.
Arkansas in Sugar Bowl.
LSU in Shreveport.

Sounds good to me.

However, the SEC is usually snubbed for the Championship game. The rest of the country considers it a weaker conference that the others.

Michigan & the Big 10 have a contract with ABC, so ABC & ESPN will be promoting the all Big 10 Championship Game.

It's a toss up.
