Following last week's three-day minicamp by the New Orleans Saints, colleagues Mike Triplett and Larry Holder each wrote about five observations made during the practice sessions.

One of Triplett's top observations was new defensive coordinator Rob Ryan's approach and similarities to former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams.

Triplett also noted the exotic schemes and personnel packages of Ryan, whose play calls -- at time - called for as many as seven defensive backs on the field and no down linemen.
