I know we don't have any breathing room to risk an injury, and I believe that we've seen enough from him.

Do you believe the Saints should sit him out tomorrow night? Or at best, limit his snaps?

I could see that...and maybe give more snaps to Onyemata/CJ Wilson

If he sits to avoid injury, the same applies to every single other starter on this team.

Is he more important than Brees? Breaux? Ellerbe?

Just have to hope and/or pray for the best. Just know no one too valuable will even be playing next Thursday.

All projected starters that are available should play tomorrow, IMO. Although I like the improvement I've seen thus far, there is no substitute for game action. Especially action against another team's #1s.

Right. They will need the snaps more than Fairley at this point. I also think that it'll give CJ Wilson a chance to earn a roster spot. We already know that Onyemata will make the team.

I'll let the coaches make coaching decisions. Although I understand the nervousness around our 3 tech depth

Yeah,

I get nervous with Fairley. Seems like he pulls up gimpy a little too often and those ankle injuries can be debilitating. I don't think he should sit.......but I'd be careful about playing him the entire half. He should get more than the 15 snaps he got last week though so maybe double that?

I think someone like Anthony needs the work more considering the time he's missed and the adjustment he has to make to playing a new position.

Fairley stated after camp the other day he needed to get in better shape and started running the long field instead of the short. This would indicate to me he wants as many snaps as he can get before we play the Raiders, now coach may see it differently but
that's my take.

I think Fairley plays most of the first quarter then exits shortly there after. As another posted previously stated, it's more about evaluating the other guys who may be in jeopardy of gaining/losing a roster spot.

I'd like to see more of Wilson, Mabry and Onyemata this game.

I was scared as hell when he limped off against the Texans. I believe he's even more valuable now since Rankins suffered the injury. I'm not sure how often they'll rotate the lineman, but maybe he should get some work and then sit.
He probably only played 15 snaps because he limped off the field during the last game.

He still needs to get live reps in our system, with his new teammates.

Exactly what I was going to add. I've read his comments about "needing to get into better game shape to help him go strong for 60 minutes". Sitting on the bench ain't gonna help him get there. Injuries are always a factor and you can't hide form it. Play all your starters with a close eye on their endurance level and pull them when they start to show fatigue.

Food for thought; good reasoning.
