Should Saints place Drew Brees on IR (Miss minimum of 3 games) (1 Viewer)

With this year's IR rules, does a missed game count if put on IR after it?

In other words, player is not on IR and misses a game. Then is placed on IR. Is he then out 2 more games or the full 3?

why bother to put him on IR? It isn't like you can sign a qb and have him know this system in a week. Not sure how you would fill the spot.
