Question Should The Saints Sign A QB This Week? (1 Viewer)

If there's a player on a division rival's practice squad, you sign him and pick his brain.

What tendencies have you noticed? What weaknesses do you think their scheme has? How are WE weak against their roster?

That extra set of eyes can make all the difference.

The answer was within the question...

It's not my decision to make but I would bet there's at least one on the Saints practice squad at this time that would make sense.

Also, that's not the only option open to the Saints at this time.

It's also possible that the Saints could choose to put a current injured player on IR and sign one of the current Practice Squad players to the Active 53-Man Roster.

That move would open a spot up on the practice squad without having to release a player.

There's more than one way to skin a cat, so I've been told.
There is more than one way to skin a cat. The cat never likes it though.

But if he's a Cool Cat he's probably comfortable in or out of his own skin. :cool:šŸˆ

Anyway...The question was Should The Saints Sign A QB This Week?

It wasn't necessarily suggesting signing a QB to come in and compete for a spot this week but more for a practice arm and/or the future of the QB room.

CDA said they were not going to sign a QB this week. He didn't get into thoughts about next week or any time beyond this week.

My take is if the Saints thought they had a chance for an extended playoff run, they would go get a Tanneyhill to try to stay competitive while Carr is out. But since theyā€™ve named Rattler the starter now over Haener they are thinking he is a better long term answer to the position so letā€™s use this as an opportunity to evaluate him and accelerate his development so that heā€™s better prepared to be the starter sooner.
