Should the Saints trade Marquez Callaway? (1 Viewer)

Real talk the only WR on the team with trade value besides the aforementioned is Deontay Harty. Now I would trade for him, elite special teams player and deep threat at WR you can use as a dollar store Tyrek Hill.

Don't get it twisted..I think very highly of Callaway and how he performed last season. I'm just saying with MT13, Landry and Olave in the fold, Callaway could be 4th or 5th on the depth chart. Maybe a WR needy team would give up a 4th or 5th rounder for him.

Who would trade for him...I don't think he has much trade value.
You might be able to get a team to bite on a package deal of both of them for a conditional 7th round pick in 2024.

Seriously, these are close to the bottom of the roster guys for us AND for 31 other teams. These are the guys you keep who are not "specialist" like special teams aces and punters. They are game day barely actives waiting for an injury to get some playing time.

Why, trade Calloway? He was the leading receiver last year, in yardage and TDs, he is restricted and costing us nothing. He is way more valuable to us than his trade value. Calloway has been better than any (Saints) undrafted FA WR I can recall. Can anyone tell of another?
My answer is his teammate — Deonte Hardy. I say we keep them both

A team will wait to see if he gets released before they trade for him.

I was being sarcastic. Im guessing this is the same person who did baun thread
Guess again. I made the Baun thread, and that’s because Baun is a bad fit for the Saints defense and scheme… he’s a 3-4 Rush OLB, and the Saints simply don’t run that scheme. Baun could be a valuable piece for a team like Pittsburgh.

Callaway is a different story. He’s a talented WR that acted as the Saints default #1 WR last season.

Remember this as well… When Callaway was an UDFA, he made the roster because of his special teams abilities. I imagine those skills haven’t gone anywhere… Callaway needs to stay.

Calloway isn't going anywhere. Easily makes the 53, the kid had 700yds and 6 TDs last year playing our #1 spot for peanuts. He isn't a #1, #2, guy, but he over achieved last yr, with these #s.
Trevor led us in completions and 16 yards away from tying JW. I don't think comparing last year's team leaders in offensive stats matters much.

If he get beat out, it's better to trade him then release him.
So, let me get this straight, if you over achieve in a disaster season. Those stats don't mater?
Calloway had better stats than, Harty, and Jarvis Landry last year. Explain that!!

Calloway: 700yds and 6TDs

Would you rather keep Callaway who is decent depth or trade him for a pointless 7th round pick? I’d personally rather keep him. Literally no upside to trading him. Far more benefit to keep him.

I didn't say that he was.
