SNL sells-out.... (1 Viewer)

Considering they now have guys like you talking about their product in alternative media forums, I'd say this move was a brilliant success for them from a marketing standpoint. (I don't drink Busch products, so could clearly care less. However I do appreciate a smart business move when I see it.)

Now it's up to the product to be good enough to run with the spotlight now that it has it.

Well played.

It's a marketing ploy that will fail. I've lived 14 years in England. My last stint, 94-01, all the young pups (20's-early 30's) were drinking bottles of Bud and Corona. They would pay £2.50 for a 12 oz beer when a much better 20oz draft pint of bitter or lager was about £2. It was "cool' to be downing a Bud. These europeans that now own Bud think we are that stupid.
I just got back from Oklahoma- saw billboards touting Bub Light Wheat- looked like they were 6-8 months old and weathered- I wanted to try a "Bud Light Wheat" and couldn't find anyone selling any.

PS- Don't EVER tell my wife I grouped the English in with "Europeans" she will kick my ***- she is not "European", she is "British"

How is SNL selling out? Anheiser-Busch bought all the ad time. Am I missing something?

Exactly,,pretty remarkable given today's economy. Does it mean the ad prices have dropped so much or Bud believes in SNL to capture a target market? Either way some ad exec(s) is celebrating tonight.

so a private company buys ad space from another private company

and this is supposed to upset me as a capitalist why?

Kenan Thompson, Sandberg's digital shorts, and (generally) the Weekend Update are pretty funny. I have no problem with Budweiser buying up all the ad time. Better than seeing a bunch of Cialis commercials.

wow, SNL was actually funny tonight... first time in yrs i can honestly say that.

the Beauty and the Beast sketch had me LOLing, 'I like a big ***' ... Butler is a funny guy, i hafta hand it to him.

and Shakira didn't suck.

No issues here whatsoever. Someone was going to purchase the ad time so who cares if it was just one company.

They same company purchases large amounts of ad time during the Super Bowl too. Does this upset you guys

The BL Golden Wheat is ok. As somone else mentioned, I'd rather the American Ale (of their products)
