I think the rule states that there are 5 tie breakers in case of a tie.
1) head to head (we win this)
2) Division record (we win this)
3) Conference record (we win this)
4) common opponents (not sure, too lazy to look up)
5) Mike Vick rule: If vick is on the team, you automatically win the tie breaker
 
You know, all you guys who are giving me a hard time for asking the question...

I was just freaking curious. I am not freaking out or anything, I know it doesnt matter. Can't a guy just be curious how something works without being given a hard time?

there is no such thing as "leading" the division when there are fewer than 16 games palyed. it's an illusion. it's a trick that lazy minds fall for. it's similar to a candidate "leading" an election before all the votes are counted. the order in which the votes are counted makes no difference to the actual winner. the vote is an event, not a process, so it really doesn't matter how they are counted. likewise, it doesn't matter how the wins and losses come in. just wait until the regular season is over and count them. there are procedures for ties.
