I'm going to correct that to, "At least 1 official should have been executed on the spot."

The blowback on Roger would've been too much for him.

May I suggest "at least 1 official should have been FIRED on the spot", with further explanation that since he was no longer employed by the NFL, he'd have to find his own way out of town. Would've accomplished the same thing, but no blowback on Roger.
