The Spiller thing is baffling. What does Cadet do that Spiller cannot? Another FA bust.

I'm starting to this that the best option for the secondary issues is gonna be 3 safeties with Byrd/Harper/Vaccaro with Vaccaro in the slot which sucks. That's a waste of KV. He was fantastic yesterday.

********

On no planet is Cadet a better player.

And you know I'm not one to usually call Payton out like that, but don't insult our intelligence.

That's probably why the move was made. Spiller in the flat attracts defensive attention. Cadet does not. Even when you throw it to him three times. Each time they went to him, he was open, and eventually even pulled in a touchdown.

Spiller is the more talented back, but Cadet apparently lends himself better to subterfuge.

I just can't see how Payton with a straight face can say that he believes Cadet offers more than Spiller in terms of contributing. It seems to me that there must be something going on behind the scenes like a disruptive Spiller or possible trade negotiations with some undisclosed team!

Veiled profanity bro.

but yeah there's either something else going on with Spiller, which doesn't make much sense since he looked like our best back in the preseason, or Payton got too cute with Cadet over Spiller.

Put Spiller in Cadet's spot on offense and returning kicks and punts instead of Murphy. There I just freed up a spot on the active roster. And put a 4 million dollar/yr player on the field.
