Not really. It may sound like reaching, but this is a play for a bigger share of the hispanical market. You guys may not know who Bad Bunny is, but he is extremely popular with the young hispanicals everywhere. And El Muerto obviously plays into the whole Day of the Dead thing.

I’m pretty sure he still has to defeat Tony Dalton to win the Latino Comix crown

I think there were two different guys who had the mask but shared the name El Muerto. He's such a nothing character that I doubt anyone remembers.

I know who Bad Bunny is. The gripe for me and likely most here is not the actor selected (although some could argue there as well). The issue is the character selected. There are others of Hispanic origin, like Tarantula mentioned above, a part of the Spider-Man mythos.

Sure, but this move is not to satisfy the comics fans in the U.S. , it is to appeal to the young Spanish-speaking masses (and even some non-Spanish speaking masses, Bad Bunny has crossover appeal), and El Muerto is definitely going to resonate much better with Spanish-speaking masses than Tarantula.
