SP chewing out McMahon repeatedly on the sidelines (1 Viewer)

The last 4 or 5 years S.P. has been the guy that fell of a cliff and thinks he is flying . In the last year or two he seems to have finally seen the bottom coming. I fully expect him to replace the special teams coach and maybe the D-line coach this off-season.

You can chalk up 9 points to poor field position due to ST. It's hard to blame the defense when someone starts their drives from the 40. I really hope this is the offseason that we make a change to ST.

Caught on tv? Didn't that happen after the second or third TD. Coach with a beard? Was that McMahon? I was wondering why bc we were doing ok.

I know McMahon was credited for "Ambush" timing, but seriously this is enough.

Put my vote on fielding that kickoff that was going out of bounds. These people have nothing else to do but practice football. Specific roles at that.

And SP had his own gaffe going for that 55 yard field goal. Haven't forgot that either.

When it comes to special teams the coaching on this team is terrible.

Several occasions yesterday I saw Payton yelling at McMahon. Times when there didn't appear to be any issues with the special teams, one of them was in the middle of an offensive series. Has McMahon become his new whipping boy?

I hope so because he is an embarrassment to special teams coaching.

I just don't get why Payton has invested so little into special teams lo these many years. Watch the patriots, they are constantly getting complementary help from that unit and of course they have now had two future hall of fame kickers for the past 16 years.

i still dont understand how tommy lee isnt taking all kick and punt return duties, he is a threat everytime he touches the ball

I'm pretty sure it was Cadet and he had to absolutely sprint to get to that terrible kick. How does a professional KR do that?

I agree that the team is currently winning and the boat shouldn't be rocked. BUT Payton needs to remember just how bad the team's Special Teams were this year. McMahon has needed to go for years.....

I thought it was probably Cadet (mainly considering both our other return specialists in Murphy and Lewis were inactives) but since I haven't re-watched the game, I didn't want to single him out and risk looking foolish if it wasn't him. :hihi:

The only thing I could come up with watching that play, was that he thought the ball wasn't going to go out of bounds and was afraid that the 9ers would get to the ball before he could.

Perhaps so, but even then that's just poor awareness. :(

He caught the ball in bounds, you can't let a kickoff bounce and just assume it's going out of bounds, one bounce the other way and the other team will be on top of it. It was actually a good play by Cadet to get to that ball before the bounce.
