Very much so.

This is exactly how the Corps of Engineers does things. Expect continued blocked kicks followed by an interim report sometime in December that calls for an additional 3 coaches to fix the problem, with McMahon getting a promotion to Assistant Head Coach.

He's just not good at the management aspect. Just like Bringing in Dennis Allen to 'help' Rob Ryan.

This is a stupid band aid approach. Take this seriously and identify the right coach and hire that person. If you can do it now great. I fit has to wait to off season to get the search done then so be it.

But this kind of reactive band aid approach is part of the reason why this team underperforms everywhere but QB.

1. It's no band aid...but a quiet passing of the torch so to speak.

2. The decision to hire DA to help RR was brilliant. RR had trouble marrying fronts to coverage. SP set him up to win.

Payton letting personal relationships interfere with business. If you have to have three coaches to do the job of one that's a problem.

Every team in the league has multiple coaches that work with the special teams unit. It's not a one man job.

Yep.

Terrible organizational leadership and management. Sacrifices to nepotism.

Deliberate and clearly communicated moves are best. Rip the band aid. Otherwise you just undermine credibility of your decision making.

We've been patient for over 5 years now...

Special teams have been bad, but never this bad. Media outlets are actually focusing their spotlights on Greg McMahon now, which never happened in the past. Now there are reports of the Saints shopping for ST coaches. Regardless of the pace, it looks like the "wheels of change" may finally be in motion.
