My cheapness and patience has won the day. Spiderman: Miles Morales is free on PS Plus (their new combo thing, and I had a PS Now account going too, as a gift).

Miles has some pretty cool new powers and Peter has Venom

Strange seeing Peter use full on Venom powers and the living tissue look of the suit will take some getting used to. One thing I liked about the black suit is how slick and smooth it looked. But it looks like they aren't just serving up the same old thing so that's good.

I'm guessing that there will be a separate skills tree for the Venom suit. Skills that we'll get used to and then will be taken away in the final part of the game when Peter gets rid of the suit. Might be a good way to change things up and make the climactic part of the game feel sort of fresh and not just using all the same attacks you've gotten used to during the game.
