So how much are we under the cap next year?
Not as much as we were at the start of the day.

So how much are we under the cap next year?
The fact that he was cut almost immediately after we freed up enough space to eat his hit this year says that we've been wanting him gone for a while but couldn't afford it.
This is a total waste of talent and money. In the grand scheme, we eat his 7 million in dead money this season, lose 2.5 million in space, but get it back next year. So this isn't hurting us in the future. But we are doing all that for a player who isn't even on the team anymore. Another in the long line.
This has to stop.
If they are purposefully clearing cap space for making a run at big free agents next year then why not tank also and get a better draft spot.
Need to make sure the strategy is being followed in both ways.
And don't trade away draft picks for a 7-9 finish at best.
Bonchie -I am with you 100%. But to fix this now long-standing problem with very poor FA picks, salary increases to locker room toxins and weak drafting, I don't think a band-aid will work. We need major moves in the FO. We have to have someone who can bring football and player business savvy back into the FO, and also someone in position and will-power to challenge SP.
I still think SP is a great coach. But he needs development in certain areas and that will only happen if he has a peer in the FO who can fight his whims on equal ground.
I saw Hopkins kick last night. How could any coach in their right mind pick Forbath over Hopkins. Hopkins has perfect form, a very quick release, quick high elevation and nails kicks dead center.
