Atlanta will drop next week when the Pats spank them.

The Falclowns will get spanked by a very very mad Patriots team.

Why are the Patriots ahead of the Saints? They almost lost to the Bills and they lost to the Jets, yet they are 7th?

the stupid part is that Atalnta jumps from 12 to 3 for beating a bad, overrated Panther team.
We only jumped from 11 to 8 for beating the top NFC defense, and perrenial NFC power house Eagles.

Yeah, makes sense.

Even his one line justifications don't make sense. I give this power ranking no credit.

because they are the Patriots. Its the same reason why some polls still have USC in the top ten.

Yeah, I don't mind flying under the radar but the falcons at #3? Our offense AND defense is better. Is their special teams that much better than ours?

Who cares about power rankings? I would rather be ranked 32 and WIN every week than be ranked first. This isn't the BCS where ranking is everything. Here only W's and L's matter.

Power ratings and team rankings in publications reflect the past more than a dynamic present because they are based in large part on where teams are ranked before the season begins, which in turn is based in large part on how teams performed the prior season.

Look at college polls. How quickly do teams rise and fall in the AP and USA Today polls in September?

If the Saints continue to play well, let's see how the Vegas line and betting public rate the Saints.

What will happen when we beat the Giants? The even the cowgirls looked impressive against them. But for Romo, they dominated the Giants. Wait til they get a load of Brees. There are going to be some shocked/angry/sad New Yorkers in the next few weeks.

In the sidebar, notice that the Saints are 4 1/2 favorites and that the over/under is 52 points, the highest in the NFL this week. We are getting some love somewhere in Vegas, even if it isn't in the power rankings.

Hmmmm,

8 is not bad, seriously, we are moving up. The Falcons stand a chance of crushing New England. Buffalo had them all but beaten and the Jets held them to 9 points.

Again, this is a bad situation for us, as fans, though. If the Falcons beat the Patriots, they'll probably move up to #1. If the Patriots beat the Falcons, they'll probably move up to #1.

Not until we beat both of those teams will any power ranking take us seriously. Because obviously all we have done is "beat the Lions and the McNabb-less Eagles"
