You're kidding yourself if you think there's a real NFL team out there that drafts strictly BPA. Every team slants their draft towards perceived needs. The "BPA" strategy is non-existant. You could say that teams draft "BPA that fills a position of need," but what other strategy is there? And that's not really "BPA," is it?

The poster intimated that we MUST draft a defensive player no matter what.

That's ridiculous if you pigeon hole yourself like that. That was my point. If the Saints think Travon Austin is more valuable than Datone Jones, then we are picking Austin.

And yes, BPA obviously doesn't strictly mean BPA, but is going to naturally slant towards positions of need. Thank you for that revelation.
