In fact, they don't even mention that Data tried to create a daughter himself. It was like she never existed.Lall was a failed experiment pretty much. This is not Lall and NO they never hinted at it being so.

Why do they need to mention her? We know who she was and that she existed. And if you are new the the universe.. then you don't even need to know she existed. In fact, they don't even mention that Data tried to create a daughter himself. It was like she never existed.
No, they didn't' mention Lal in either context, but i don't see where it mattered at all. Daj is completely different Lal. Lal was another android with a transfered copy of Data's matrix.
Don't either of you think that someone (Picard, if no one else) should've at least mentioned in passing that Data himself tried to create a sentient synthetic like him, but failed with tragic consequences? Why do they need to mention her? This is why I had a question. People KNOW Data had a daughter. We also know that the daughter was Lall. By not mentioning her directly and having Picard's "He always wanted a daughter" line, it suggests she didn't exist and that these twins are his one attempt.Don't either of you think that someone (Picard, if no one else) should've at least mentioned in passing that Data himself tried to create a sentient synthetic like him, but failed with tragic consequences?
