Former New Orleans Saints special teamer Steve Gleason's adventures in the outdoors have no end in sight despite an ALS diagnosis two years ago.

Gleason rode in the Rock 'n' Roll New Orleans Half Marathon last Sunday in a customized wheelchair pushed by his brother-in-law, and this Sunday he'll embark on a six-day, 395-mile bike ride in a custom-built tandem recumbent bicycle for the Ride 2 Recovery Gulf Coast Challenge, raising money for rehabilitation programs for injured military veterans.

He's been training with his wife, Michel, on his bike dubbed "The Big Easy," and he will be leading the way for more than 200 wounded veterans along the trek from New Orleans to Tallahassee, Fla. They depart from Champions Square Sunday at 9 a.m. and stop at five cities before their final destination.
