I sit right behind the Saints bench. I noticed yesterday after special teams plays that Gleason was looking at the pictures that are faxed down like you generally see a QB doing. I'm not sure is common throughout the league, but Gleason seems dedicated to his job.

Gleason has been a favorite of mine for a long time, and he is still up there even with all the great new additions we made this year.

Yea he is a great guy. He gives it his all on Special Teams.

He was grimacing big time after a kick in the second half- does anyone know if he sustained an injury?

I agree that you gotta like this guy. He is well prepared and plays his heart out. Our special teams misses him when he isn't there.

He's one of the few "special teams specialists" in the league. He knows his role, and he makes plays week after week. He's one of my favorites too.

I seem to remember an interview where Steve said that he doesn't really like football all that much. He really just likes being able to run at full speed & knockin the snot out of people. Or something to that effect...

He should go to the Pro-Bowl based solely on that blocked punt against Atlanta.

i agree....however, he's played very well all year as well.....the dude is just what Deuuuuce said, "a special teams specialist".....that being said, i think he needs to bring back the mohawk

I think Steve is a captain on special teams. Gets everyone aligned, calls for a block or a return setup etc. Probably why he was looking at pics and whatnot, then if he sees something talks it over with the ST coach. Just a hunch. Don't think he was anything more than dinged on the play you were talking about(When he was grimacing)

He'll be considered one of the greats for the Saints. Plays hard. It was him in that locker room video urging teammates to come in on Monday for some lifting and to break down the film. A real professional and what this team needs this year.
