The odds were favorable that the best player to emerge from Under Armour Senior Bowl week would be from Southern Cal, just from the volume of Trojans on the North roster.
USC defensive lineman Sedrick Ellis, one of nine Trojans in the game, has lived up to his advance billing and appears to be the best candidate to extend the Senior Bowl's streak of having a player selected among the top five picks in the NFL draft, a stretch that now runs seven years.
Of course, the Senior Bowl is just the beginning of the intense pre-draft evaluation, but the 6-foot-1, 307-pound Ellis is standing head and shoulders and stomach above the stars in town this week.
