Student's camera snaps wolverine in California (1 Viewer)

Rumors of it's extinction were greatly exaggerated.

I snapped this pic while on snipe hunt in Yosemite.

I've seen one in the wild here in Montana. It's almost eerie because they're so rare. There is a large concentration by their standards up here in the Crazy Mountains. They'll scare a bear off of a kill.

Appalachian State is warned to stay away. However, the Wolverines are thinking about relocating to Florida.

Reminds me of a story... Yes - get ready...

I was sitting in my deer stand a long time ago on a Bayou far, far away... I looked up and seen this damned cat walking towards me... I thought to myself, "What the hell is a damned old Puss cat doing out here in these woods?"

As he walked right by me I saw his pointy little ears and his bob tail, and I realized what I was witnessing... So being that I had just ate a good "herb" for breakfast and I had my trustly little Bow and Arrow... I came to the conclusion that I had three choices.

1. Shoot the sucker, and have a bobcat skin on the wall.
2. Jump down out of the stand and take him home for a pet.
3. Let him go... Which is what I did

I was kinda proud to have old "BOB" living in my neck of the woods about a mile from the farm...

Another time I was squirrel hunting this same Bayou early early one morning, and I had just smoked a big fat one and I was stoned... So I sat down by this tree and decided to watch the Bayou and look for squirrels.. I was watching this giant cypress tree with a Big hole in the top of it...

The Sun was just coming up and out of this hole came a raccoon, He looked at the Sun, rubbed his eyes with both hands, then he yawned real big. And then he just crossed his arms and laid down on the branch outside the hole and went back to sleep in the sun... It was like a friggin cartoon on a saturday morning for children.... I grabbed my gun and slowly walked away so as not to wake him up... That experience was one of the most influentintial ever, that made me feel one with nature and God...

and lastly...

I was squirrel hunting again with a group of friends.... I heard... "Bam"..........Bam, Bam.. Boom, Bam, Boom, Bam, Bam, Boom.. Bam................ Bam....

I swear to Gosh I heard pellets falling all around me....

I thought something had happened so I went running into the middle of the woods from where I heard the shoots. My buddies was there and they had this one little squirrel.

"What happened" I asked.
Nuttin they replied, we just got this squirrel.
"That's great" I replied, "Seen any others?"
"Naw, we just shot him out the nest."

I never went huntin with them guys again...

Didn;t mean to jack your thread ra, especially about a subject like this, but there is a difference between True Hunters and Fools...

Now that time I was Deer huntin in s. Ark and my old Unkle said, "If it ain;t another hunter and it's walking, shoot it." I for the life of me don;t understand why the guys at camp got mad at me, when I came back dragging this wild hog.....
