For DC area residents, is there any place in town the gets a decent crowd for Sunday Night Football? Mr. Days? Summer's? Something else in the district?

Got a friend who will be in town Sunday night and we want to have some cold ones and watch the Saints game in a somewhat lively place. He'll be in the Hinckley Hilton not too far from Dupont so something in DC would be preferable.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks.

A bunch of my buddies meet at The Tomb's in Georgetown for Saints games. In fact, the Saints games now take precedence on the big screen, even over Skins games.

Chinatown and Georgetown are equally accessible from the Hinckley Hilton (Connecticut and T Street NW). i would recommend that he cabs it anywhere he goes, at least plan on cabbing it home, because Metro stops running at midnight (and there's no Metro if he opts for Georgetown... and even the Dupont Metro entrance at 20th and Q is still pretty far from Conn and T :) - and it's uphill coming back).

RFD on 7th Street is a good place to watch games if you like beer; there are four bigscreens over the main bar, one rear-projection in the couch/coffee table seating area down front, and three other televisions distributed throughout the restaurant seating area. 300 beers in the case, 30 on draft. It is owned by Dave Alexander, who also owns the Brickskellar a few blocks from that Hinckley Hilton.

Clydes (also on 7th) is also a good place with two bigscreens in the front bar, one in the back bar and one in the bar upstairs. We will not get sound at Clydes. We will get it at RFD if we ask for it. They will likely also be showing the game at the Hooters across 7th Street from RFD, if you like that sort of place. ;)

This Sunday is a rare night in Chinatown, in that there is no event at the Verizon Center. This means that there will be just the regular customer base, not the cattle-masses which descend on Wizards/Caps/Hoyas game nights.

Never been to Tombs so can't comment on that one.

Is there gonna be a Saints group at RFD Sunday night?
